Falling at AFRIMA is a Humbling Lesson – Seyi Shay Posted on Even though she didn’t win big like Wizkid and Tiwa Savage, Seyi Shay was the centre of attention at this year’s All Africa Music Awards after falling on stage while performing. While speaking in a recent interview, the singer said she was so bitter with everyone when she went backstage. She said, “At backstage, I was blaming everyone. I blamed my stylist, the designer, and my manager.  I even blamed the stage. But the truth is that what is meant to be will be. I think with every lesson, there is a blessing. “I knew that when I got off the stage and opened my phone, there would be so much talk about my fall. Like I expected, by the time I got to my room,  Instablog9ja  already had 40,000 views.” According to her, the AFRIMA’s experience was the first time she would be experiencing such an embarrassing moment. “You know everybody has a first time. Wizkid, Davido and even Beyonce have suff...

No going back to secular music for me --says Ada

No Going Into Secular Music For Me – Ada Posted on Beyond the deep passion that Ada Ogochukwu-Ehi has for gospel music, her confidence in the genre is very strong. Unlike some other gospel artistes who envy what goes on in the secular music scene, Ada, as she is fondly called, believes that the sky is wide enough for all to thrive in whatever genres they choose. No wonder, since she graduated from the Lagos State University, Ojo, in 2007, she has not done any other job than the gospel trade. And she seems to be having it cool, while believing that God still has a lot in store for her. For one, she does not see herself backsliding into secular music for any reason. She says, “Where I stand I see a lot of gospel artistes doing exceedingly well. We have the best-selling records. Of course, that is one of the reasons why we are here and you can observe that we actually do fantastic sales. I released the video,  Jesus , two months ago and it hit over one million views o...
